questions!

What is the title and basic plot of the time-based work?
title: TBD
as music starts to play, a character unfolds from a ball rolling on the ground, and as more layers are added more individuals grow out of the original character. The viewer sees that they are trying to reach the top of a nearby building, but doesn't know quite why. Just before they reach the top, the music that "awoke" them ceases and they lose their footing, never reaching the roof.

Who/what are the protagonist and antagonist?
Whether their intentions are noble or not, the protagonists are the characters that roll out of the ball, and the viewer wants them to reach their goal if not just to find out why they are intent on achieving it. The antagonist could be the music that ...propels them and at the last and worst possible second takes that away.

What is the climax of the time-based work?
the climax of the work occurs just as the reach the edge of the roof....the music has been building, and the viewer is so close to finding out where they're going.

How is composition used to re-enforce the narrative?
The narrative is enforced by consistently keeping the view facing either where the protagonists are headed or on them from the side, thus keeping all attention on them and their goal.

How are camera angles used to evoke empathy?
Camera angles used invoke empathy at first by following the characters wherever they might be going and then, as they walk by the angle shifts to focus on their goal, ie the top of the building towards which they march.

What points-of-view are used to tell the narrative and why?
Closer second- and third-person views are used at the beginning of the work, following them and letting them (unknowingly) introduce themselves to the viewer. Later on the shots are generally more distant, to increase the mystery of where they're going and why.

How does the project's clip editing contrast rhythm and speed?
Many of the camera angles change in time with the music, and more often as the music gets more intense.

What are motion and animation highlights in your work?
The "morph" occurs when the first individual comes out of the ball, and more intensely when the other two emerge from him. A moment with a lot of impact motion/sound wise occurs as they jump on to the side of the building as the music suddenly becomes more driving and ...violent?

What do you want the viewer to think and feel when after they finish viewing the project?
sympathy for the protagonists and curiosity as to what their goal was/why they were prohibited from achieving it.
